The Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association has announced its Pacific Northwest Book Awards. Winners include six books by authors from Washington state and Portland. Here's the list: "Call Author: Mary Ann Gwinn. Kate Wilhelm has a series of novels featuring a Eugene, Oregon attorney named Barbara Holloway. I've read the first three of them and found them enjoyable, if not knock-your-socks-off great. Wilhelm wrote science fiction before turning to mysteries and the first book in the Barbara Holloway series, Death Qualified, has some odd sci-fi themes to it that didn't appeal .
